Sue Ennis

I was born and raised in Toronto, but I have not always been an artist. It was only after many years in the financial services sector, that I decided that it was time to fulfill a lifelong dream of mine. I had always wanted to study art, so I decided to quit my job and go to art school fulltime. My art is driven by colour and intuition and I paint in an abstract style. What unites all of my work, and what moves me most, is the love of colour, texture, energy, and an appreciation of the diverse art materials available Sometimes I will paint highly energetic reverse acrylic paintings on Plexiglas for weeks on end. At other times, I may paint more reflective, quieter oil At other times, I may paint more reflective, quieter oil paintings on mylar. I am currently working on a series of abstract fugurative paintings called Talking Heads

The painting journey continues to be an intuitive and exploratory one and I Have discovered how creativity can energize a space and a life.
