Shirin Divanbeigi is an artist and educator based in Toronto. Born in Tehran, she holds her visual art diploma from CTS. Her works reflects on the restrictions of the Middle East towards women and their role in society. Her art driven from her extreme personal life reaches to the heart of the viewer and touches a collective pain. Her art, a fusion of traditional Persian design and everyday life in North America, knits a tapestry that allows one to float in between time, places and cultures. She has shown her works internationally and received recognitions, awards and grants.
