Rebecca Last

Rebecca Last is a graduate of York University, BFA, University of Toronto, MA, studying in Italy and New York. Working as artist, designer and arts educator for over two decades, her paintings apply classical landscape conventions to a semi-automatic painting process. Offering "abstracted realities in built up painted surfaces of... technically charged, visceral images of raw, unpredictable moments of environmental beauty".

Awards include the Ministry of Culture, Resident lecturing Artist at Nanjing University, China, Ontario Arts Council & Virginia Center for the Arts Fellowship. Last worked as Artist in Residence at Banff Centre, Hambidge Arts Center, Georgia VCCA, US. Recently her work has been featured in Cottage Life Magazine and SLATE's cover.

Currently "Chiaroscuro" is installed in the AGO Bistro. Exhibitions include Edward Day Gallery, Art Gallery of Northumberland & First Canadian Place Gallery.
