LE Gallery

LE Gallery opened in Little Portugal at Dundas St W and Ossington Ave. in 2003 by Director WIl Kucey. Developing an early reputation as a space to discover the best of Toronto’s emerging art scene, the gallery has evolved into a site to experience young artists just entering the museum and international system in the art world. LE Gallery focuses on promoting artists with a critical contemporary practice and focuses heavily on Painting and Drawing. Painters at the gallery often engage with elements pulled from the trajectory of Canadian Art History, acknowledging their position as Canadian Artists, while engaging with international dialogues. LE Gallery firmly beleives in a new generation of artists employing drawing as their primary practice, whether it be watercolour, graphite, animation techniques or architectural studies. LE Gallery artists featured at excel at technical proficiency while speaking to the experience of their own generation.
