“My art is not about words or philosophies. I paint because I feel compelled to translate the things I observe – the things that create a sense of excitement or wonder within me. It could be a piece of interesting architecture, a beautiful flower, a breathtaking bit of scenery, or a moment of weather drama .” ~ John Molnar (1960 – 2010)
John Molnar was known for his lush landscape and floral paintings in oil and casein. He was considered a master and expert on the somewhat forgotten medium of casein, and his work was the subject of feature articles in American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine and International Artist. John was also profiled in the book, My Friends, Today’s Great Masters.
John had seven solo shows over his lifetime, participated in scores of group and juried exhibitions, and received numerous awards for his art. His work hangs in private, public and corporate collections around the world including CAMH, Black and Moffat Architects, Jack Richeson & Company and others.
